Serge focuses on intact protein analyses within the Protein Analysis / Proteomics service area. He is responsible for mass spectrometric characterization of proteins like intact antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates, membrane proteins, protein-metal complexes (e.g. metallothioneins) as well as globular proteins.
In his daily work, Serge actively supports the research community in structural biology studies or preliminary assurance of protein identity with well-established or order-specific analytical solutions. Characterization of biomolecule therapeutic products, naturally or chemically modified proteins, validation of sample integrity or assessment of sample heterogeneity are customary performed by ESI and MALDI-MS. For even more complex protein mixtures, LC/ESI-MS helps to reveal components not detectable by direct-infusion MS
