Introduction to Proteomics Data Analysis and Beyond
Course Description
This three day bioinformatics training course provides an introduction to the analysis of proteomics data.
The course consists of lectures tailored to introduce the bioinformatics and statistics involved in the following proteomics
experiments:
- protein identification
- experimental design
- label free quantification
- pull down experiments
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, the participants will:
- understand the similarities and differences between protein
identification, quantification and pull down experiments
- know what to expect - understand the opportunities and limits of a
proteomics experiment - asses and interpret the results from a proteomics experiment
- apply over-representation analysis (ORA) or gene set enrichment
analysis (GSEA) to generate biological insights - formulate a well designed proteomics experiment for a meaningful research question
Course Program
- Quality control metrics and visualisations
- Protein identification, models of peptide spectrum matches,
inference of proteins, controlling the error probability. - Bioinformatics for pull down experiments
- Principles of Linear Modelling - application to Label Free data analysis
- Basics of experimental design
Important facts and how to apply
